What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

First edition of The Real Martyr of St. Helena by T. Dundas Pillans in the original publisher's cloth binding.

This alternative historical narrative attempts to alter the myth's surrounding Napoleon as a 'great man'.

Includes five monochrome plates, including a frontispiece with a tissue guard. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, resulting in some wear to the cloth in these areas. Marks to the boards. The hinges are strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some occasional spotting.
