Illustrated with twelve tipped in colour plates, and further vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.

Published when Allen was only fourteen, Allen was an English artist who achieved recognition at an early age as a painter and illustrator. She later contributed illustrations to several publications including The Illustrated London News, The Sketch and Tatler.

A beautiful early twentieth century children's book.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial paper covered boards. Bumping to spine head and tail, with minor marks to boards. Lacking front free endpaper, with front hinge a touch strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
