First edition. Illustrated throughout with sixty coloured plates and two folding maps. Collated complete. A guide to the River Nile and its banks with specific reference to: history, the pyramids, Greeks and Romans, modern Egypt, British occupation, Arabian Nights, and life on the river. Written by John A. Todd. Illustrated by Ella Du Cane, a British artist best known for her watercolors of landscapes and exotic locales.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart with light bumping to the extremities. Minor fraying to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
