During his career Scully held a variety of important positions in South African politics, including as the Chief Magistrate of Port Elizabeth. His best known published works are 'Daniel Vananda' and 'The Harrow'.

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Some spots to the fore edge. Stamp to the front paste down. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots. Pages unopened to the fore edge.
