What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, Very Scarce
First edition. Very scarce. Signed by the author in pencil to the front endpaper, dated September 1913. With a portrait frontispiece and the odd in-text illustration. Noted for his non-fiction works on the Utopian potentials of his home region and the Pacific Rim, this piece casts the author's speculations into the form of a genuine Utopia. In the novella, we follow Edward Bellamy in a Portland that has been transformed by technology into a socialist paradise. Source: S.F.E. (The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction). Written by Jeff. W. Hayes, an American entrepreneur who introduced the telegraph to Portland, Oregon, in 1882
Condition
In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and sunning to the spine. The odd small closed tear to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
