    Two sammelband volumes on architecture and art, one being the special spring number of The Studio in 1913, Old Houses in Holland, and the other a first edition copy, published in the same year, of Peasant Art in Italy. Both volumes edited by Charles Holme, but text and illustration in Old Houses in Holland is by Sydney R Jones. 

    A thorough and fascinating study of the architectural expression in Holland, and of peasant art in Italy, which includes costumes, embroidery, textile fabrics, and much more.

    Profusely and beautifully illustrated throughout. Collated.

    Condition

    Rebound in half crushed morocco and cloth over boards. Gilt to tope edge. Externally smart with minor shelfwear and slight rubbing to head of spine and extremities. Minor rubbing to spine, though gilt is still present. Five raised bands. Internally, front board is detached to spine but laid down and hinges are slightly lose to rear board. Binding is generally firm throughout. Leaf with 225A illustration to Italian Peasant Art volume detached but present. Minor faint scattered spotting to the occasional leaf, though pages are generally clean. Collating complete to both volumes with twelve illustrations in colour and various illustrations in text throughout to volume on Old Houses in Holland, and eighteen coloured plates and many illustrations in text throughout in Peasant Art in Italy. All leaves present.
