Historical and comparative notes are accompanied and brought to life with stunning full page plates both in colour and in monochrome from famous paintings and statuary, as well as illustrations by Maurice Greiffenhagen, J. R. Weguelin, and more. 

Collated, complete with fifteen full page plates in colour and sixty four plates in monochrome.

Condition

In the original publisher's uniform decorative cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to fore edge, scattered to occasional leaf.
