During the ‘Golden Age’ of British book illustration Rackham was one of its leading artists. He used expressive line paired with a subtle use of watercolour to create his beautiful images. This work contains examples of Rackham's ethereal figures such as his elves, and goblins; his fairy tale characters; and his grotesque and fantastic.
With an introduction by Sir Arthur Quiller Couch.
Bookplate to the front pastedown, which was issued with this work, is blank.
Held in a custom slipcase, with marbled edges.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Several light marks to the boards. Minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the odd spot and thumbing to the bottom of text pages. Slipcase is in a FINE condition.
