First edition. Scarce work. A complete catalogue of the manuscripts at St John College, Cambridge, with details of specific owners and doners of manuscripts. Written by Montague Rhodes James, an English author, medievalist scholar and provost of King's College, Cambridge from 1905 to 1918, and of Eton College from 1918 to 1936. He was also Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge from 1913 to 1915.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and bumping to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is sound with light chipping and the odd closed tear. Larger tears to the front and rear boards, with a tear to the tail of the spine having been sympathetically repaired with paper and tape. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Light age toning to the endpapers.
