Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and fifty-five monochrome photographic plates Collated complete. 

This work was written by American lawyer William Morgan Shuster and contains a personal account of British and Russian influence over Persia. Shuster managed Persia's finances but was later forced to resign due to British and Russian diplomatic pressure. This work criticises the influence of Russia and Britain, dedicating the book to the People of Persia. 

In the publisher's original cloth.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities, the odd minor mark to the boards and light rubbing to the title to the front board and spine. Bookplate belonging to a 'F. Diba' to the front pastedown with a bookseller's blind stamp to the front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with only slight age toning.
