The first volume present is 'The Little Book of Simple Remedies'. Including treatments for apoplexy, constipation, epilepsy, measles and scarlet fever, this provides insight into the treatment of common illnesses in the period.
The second work is 'The Little Book of Salads and Savouries', with recipes for dressings, condiments, salads and savoury snacks.

In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Bumping to spine heads and tails, with fading and light marks to the front board of each volume. Inscription to verso of 'Salads' front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
