A scarce copy of the first UK English language edition of this work. 

One of many works by Maurice Leblanc featuring his popular character Arsene Lupin, the gentleman thief and master of disguise who first appeared in a series of short stories in the magazine Je sais tout in 1905. 

Translated by Alexander Teixeira de Mattos.

With only two other copies of this edition held in libraries. 

Maurice Leblanc was a French novelist and short story writer best known for works featuring Lupin. 

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Slight marks to the boards and rubbing to the front board. The hinges are slightly strained but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot and light age toning.
