A beautifully illustrated edition, with twenty tipped in and brightly coloured plates from English artist Dudley Tennant. Collected, complete.

First published in 1883, this is the best known work of American poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox. This volume features her most often quoted poem, 'Solitude' beginning with the lines 'Laugh, and the world laughs with you; weep, and you weep alone'. The poems within this work are divided into works of passion, pleasure, and philosophy.
