Extracted from Philippe de Segur's 'La Campagne de Russie 1812', this work extracting the text relating to Napoleon, his rise and fall during his doomed siege of Russia.

Most of the paintings reproduced in this work were in the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg.

Illustrated by various artists, including Charlet, Doou, Gerard, Kossak, Matvieff, and more.

Condition

In a full cloth binding, rebacked with the original boards restored. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards. Prior seller's informative label to the recto to the front endpaper. Tape repair to the gutter between the front free endpaper and plate of Napoleon. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
