The scarce first edition of this work. A study of diplomacy in Morocco by E D Morel, French-born British journalist, author, pacifist, and politician. He played a significant role in the British pacifist movement during the First World War, participating in the foundation of and becoming secretary of the Union of Democratic Control.
This work received limited circulation although Morel believed it was read in influential circles. It was republished under the title 'Ten Years of Secret Diplomacy: An Unheeded Warning' following the outbreak of the First World War.
Collated, complete with five folding maps to rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally with bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, faint minor spotting to boards. Bookseller stamp to front pastedown. Front free endpaper was excised by a previous owner. Previous ownership pencil inscription to front free endpaper dated 1966. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting scattered to leaves.
