Description

Original Binding, Signed, With Letter

Written by Arundell Esdaile, a British librarian, and the Secretary to the British Museum from 1926 to 1940. Dealing with tales and prose romances, the volume contains two parts, being 1475-1642 and 1643-1739, and makes for a detailed reference to this relatively niche subject. Featuring a signed, handwritten letter by the author, loosely inserted: [To Recto] '[Unintelligible] Pray excuse my delay in replying to your letter of last week. I have been away from Manchester for a few days, and find it awaiting me on my return! I have pleasure in sending you, on the other side, a transcript of the title and colophon your copy of "Arthur of Little Brytayn", by which you will find Hazlitt is at fault. I hope you will not hesitate at any time to ask for any transcript or collation or any other information of which you may be in need. Yours faithfully A.
