Prior wrote these articles for the 'Illustrated London News', where he was the war correspondent from the early 1870s until 1904.
This volume discusses the 1877 Turkish War, 1879-80 Zulu War, 1881 Boer War, 1882 Egyptian Campaign, 1884 Nile Expedition, 1895 Jameson Raid, the 1904-05 Russo-Japanese War, and more.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and sixteen plates.
Collated, bound without the front endpaper, otherwise complete.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few minor marks to the cloth. Spine is faded. A couple of small chips to the rear joint, and to the fore edge of the front board. Front hinge is a little strained but remains firm. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Lacking the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional scattered spot, mostly to the first and last few pages.
