In the publisher's original cloth with gilt details to the spines.
This twenty volume set features a collection of works by the noted author Thomas Hardy. The collection contains the 'Wessex edition' of the works which is considered to be the definitive edition in which Hardy revised his novels for the last time.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the spines, marks to the boards and spines including light damp stains to the odd volume, closed tears to the head and tails of the spines, bumping and wear to the extremities and closed tears to the joints resulting in spine lifting to 'Trumpet Major, Far From the Madding Crowd, Tess of the Durbervilles and The Return of the Native'. Joints tender to 'The Return of the Native' with rear joints tender to 'Trumpet Major and 'Far From the Madding Crowd' and front starting to 'Tess of the Durbervilles'. Offsetting to the endpapers. Hinges starting to 'Native, Two on a Tower and Jude the Obscure', to the rear only to 'Desperate Remedies and The Well Beloved' and front hinge starting after front blanks to 'Loadicean'. Endpapers renewed to 'Dynasts part two'. Internally firmly bound with age toned pages with spotting to the front and rear.
