Lewis Gaston Leary's interesting volume illustrating Palestine in all its rich history and beauty. The first edition of 1911. 

Gaston depicts the Holy Land focussing on its natural elements that are so characteristic: the hills, mountains, the sea such as the plain of Dothan, Jaffa from the Sea, Mount Sinai &c.; as well as  giving a historical insight and topographical information and description of the cities and monuments visited by the author, such as the interior of the Mosque of Machpelah, and Omar, information on the Koran, and more. 

An excellent example of this scarce work. 

Illustrated with numerous plates and eight maps and plans. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally excellent with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine as well as to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with numerous plates and eight maps and plans. Collated, complete.
