In the original publisher's full cloth binding Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Previous ownership signature to the title page. Internally, generally firmly bound, with only pp. 55-8 and comprised map loose but present.The pages are clean with only a touch of age toning, as usual. Illustrated with thirty-eight maps and forty-nine plans, of which twelve are folding. Collated, lacking the plan of Trebizond to p.573. With a slight closed tear to the frontispiece folding map.
