Written whilst the author was the British Resident in Northern Nigeria, this is a detailed and insightful history of the changes Britain made since gaining responsibility of governing the inhabitants of Africa in 1900. An interesting look at a decade of Britain's influence on the continent.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing and a little discolouration to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is a little strained. Library label to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with only a few occasional spots. Stamp to reverse of the frontispiece, stamp and blind stamp to the title page, and to a couple of other pages.
