This work on Alpine flowers was written by plant biologist Henry L Correvon and beautifully illustrated with watercolour depictions of the flowers by Philippe Robert. The work describes the general environment of the mountains and an in depth description of each species of plant.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine, very minimal loss to to the gilt border to the spine label and light bumping to the extremities of the boards. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown with front hinge starting and an old ink inscription dated 1921 to the front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound with pages lightly age toned to the extremities and generally clean with the odd spot, heavier to the front.
