A beautiful annual for the graphic arts. 'The Penrose Annual' was published nearly annually from 1893 to 1982, and was begun by Lund Humphries. Gamble edited the annual from 1893 to 1933. This edition is the sixteenth volume of the annual. The articles are written by a wide selection of authors, with some of the articles being titled 'About Photo-Engraving Prices', 'American View of Typography', 'Offset Printing', 'Irradiation', 'Paynetype', and more. Illustrated with forty-four colour plates, one-hundred and twenty-five monochrome plates, and many in-text illustrations. Collated, complete. Edited by William Gamble. Publisher's adverts to the pastedowns and endpapers, and seventy-one leafs of publisher's adverts to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Some light marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
