A first edition of this scarce work in a half cloth binding with marbled boards. Stamp to the half title page. 34 plates, 5 of which are folding and 1 of which is a folding map, and numerous illustrations accompanying the text. Collated complete. Additional copies of plates iv, v, vii, xi, xiii, xiv, xv, xxiv, and xxxii have been tipped in to the rear, potentially by a previous owner as these are not listed alongside the other plates. Franz Karl Bruch or Carlos Bruch (1869-1943) was a German-born Argentinian entomologist and archaeological collector. In this volume he describes his archaeological discoveries in Tucuman and Catamarca in Argentina. This work is in Spanish. A leaflet of advertisements bound in to the rear.
Condition
In a half cloth binding with marbled boards. Externally sound, with bumping and fading to the boards and wear to the extremities. Small loss to the rear joint and to the marbled paper of the front board. Tear to the spine. Joints are starting to split but remain firm. Internally, firmly bound, except for plate xii, which is detached but intact. Pages are clean but age toned.
