The first edition of this work. Signed by the author to the front endpaper. An engrossing and highly detailed history of Christ Church, Oxford, a constituent college of the University of Oxford in England. The college was founded in Henry VIII in 1546. Illustrated with a tipped in colour frontispiece, and twenty-five tipped-in colour plates. Collated, complete. Written by Arthur Hassall. Illustrated by Arthur Garratt.
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, sound, with loss of paper to the extremities. Discolouration to the cloth. Minor marks to the boards and spine. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Signed by the author to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
