Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Sadlier Brereton, the author of this work, was a British Army medical officer and writer of over forty children's books detailing heroic deeds conducted in the name of the British Empire. This, one of his earliest works, details the brave adventures of a heroic grenadier serving his country in the Crimean War.

Featuring a sixteen page publisher's catalogue to the rear.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Fading to spine and small portion of front board. Bumping to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
