Henry Huth was an English merchant banker and prominent bibliophile. After travelling through Europe and the America's, Huth joined his father's company and settled in London where he began forming his library. Huth confined himself to no particular subject, but bought anything of real interest provided that the book was in good condition. His varied collection was especially rich in voyages, Shakespearean and early English Literature, and also in early Spanish and German works, influenced by his time in Hamburg.
Condition
In original paper wraps. Externally, generally sound with some chipping and wear to spines. Spotting to all volumes. Discolouration to spines. Rear wrap detached and missing to volume 1917. Ink signature to front wrap of 1917. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Pages generally bright with occasional spots.
