A fantastic selection of works from Scottish novelist, essayist, poet and travel writer, Robert Louis Stevenson, who is best known for his novels 'Treasure Island' (1881), 'Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' (1886) and 'The Master of Ballantrae' (1889).
With an introduction from Andrew Lang to volume I, who was part of the same London literary circle as Stevenson, and offered encouragement to the writer.
With a monochrome frontispiece to each volume.

Condition
Uniformly bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, very smart. With fading to the spines, heaviest to volumes I-III, XX, XXIV, and XXV. With marks to the tails of the spines that have resulted in fading to the 'Swanston Edition' gilt text. With small damp marks to the spine and boards of vols XIII, XX, XXIII, and XXIV. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and the odd spot.
