Published in twenty five volumes, this is an incomplete set comprising of twenty volumes. As stated to edition page the swanston edition was limited to 2060 copies of which 2000 copies are for sale. This set is number 1987 of 2000. Frontispiece to all volumes. Numerous facsimile plates to the rear of Volume XXII. In Hatchards bindings, as indicated from binder's stamp to verso of front endpaper. Condition

Crack to front joint of volume II from head to halfway down. Small cracks to head and tail of rear joint to volume II. Front hinge to volume II is slightly strained but firm. Loss to head and tail of spine to volume V. Small crack to the spine of volume VII. Crack to tail of front joint to volume VII. Crack to rear joint of volume VII. Loss to head and tail of spine to volume VII. Front hinge to volume VIII is slightly strained but firm. Small loss to the head of volume XIV. Loss to head and tail of joints to volume XVI due to rubbing. Crack to spine of volume XVII. Crack to rear joint to volume XX. Loss to head and tail of volume XXV, Prior owner's initials to recto of front endpaper to majority of volumes. L E L and E L. Internally, all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot throughout. Ribbon bookmarks present to all volumes
