The work of Scottish theologian George Adam Smith, first published in 1894, here in its sixteenth edition. A member of the United Free Church of Scotland, the author's preface states the aim of this work to be learning 'what geography has to contribute to questions of Biblical criticism', and 'to realise the historical influences by which our religion was at first nurtured'. Chapters focus on history, climate, and various geographical regions.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth covered boards. Bumping to extremities, spine head and tail. Library bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Library stamp to the head of numerous pages. Some foxing to first few pages, otherwise generally clean and bright.
