Illustrated with eight full page coloured plates John Bunyan was an English writer and preacher best remembered as the author of the religious allegory The Pilgrim's Progress, regarded as one of the most significant works of religious English literature.

Condition

In a full tree calf prize binding with gilt detailing. Externally, in lovely condition. Prize bookplate to Portsmouth Grammar School to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean throughout with scattered spotting With previous owners ink inscription to the front free end-paper.
