Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and many monochrome illustrations throughout.

The author, Richard Ferris, tells the story of flight, looking into the laws and science, as well as the leading figures and events that pushed the development along.

Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library. 

Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper.

Collated, complete.

Four pages of adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Some minor marks to the boards and spine. Spine is a little faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
