A very scarce copy of this work, issued in Sisley's 'Miniature series', held institutionally by one library only and rarely seen on the market. Dated from Jisc 1909. A pocket-sized volume containing brief biographical sketches of Empress Josephine and Marie Louis Duchess of Parma, Napoleon's wives. Illustrated with portraits.
In the original publisher's binding. Complete with half title. With text in purple ink and illustrations and decorations printed in burgundy. A truly charming book.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter clot binding over paper covered boards. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, light faint soiling to the boards, minor rubbing and faint marking to the boards, minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with portraits.
