An early edition, dated 1909, with dots in the O's to the front board, Plate VII endpapers in Quinby, and without the plate of Mrs McGregor to the plate facing page 14, and 'shed' to page 51.

Collated, bound without the frontispiece.
Condition
In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Crack to the rear joint and a little lifting of paper. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Some marks to the boards, mostly to the rear board. Light bumping to the extremities. Front hinge is strained after the title page. Prior owner's pencil to the front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound though a little strained in places. Pages are bright and generally clean with some scattered spots. Prior owner's ink to the half-title. Page 17 is detached but present, with a little edge wear and a few marks.
