First edition of Peru Its Story, People, and Religion by Geraldine Guinness in the original publisher's cloth binding. 

Illustrated by the author's father Henry Grattan Guinness, an Irish preacher and author responsible for sending hundreds of faith missionaries all over the world. 

Geraldine Guinness was a British Protestant missionary to China.

Illustrated with forty five plates, including nine photogravure plates, a partially coloured folding map to page 209, and a large folding colour map to the rear. Collated, complete. 

Prior owner's ink inscription from 1809 to the first free endpaper.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The hinges are slightly strained but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription from 1809 to the first free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot.
