The third impression of Elizabeth Lee's English language translation of French Egyptologist Gaston Maspero study of Egypt.

Illustrated with thirty-eight photographic plates. Collated, complete.

Published in the original French as 'Causeries d'Egypte' in 1907, Maspero's work discusses his observations about Ancient Egypt made over the course of fifteen years of excavations.

Chapters discuss a vast range of topics, from 'Egyptian Belief in Lucky and Unlucky Days' to 'The Tomb of Thebes', and from 'Mummies of Animals' to 'Egyptian Love Poetry'.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail, otherwise externally excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a touch age toned, with instances of minor light spotting throughout.
