This work details the preparation and techniques required when long and middle distance running.
Alfred Shrubb (1879-1964) was an English long-distance runner, whose won over one thousand races between 1905 and 1912. He was considered virtually unbeatable, and sometimes raced against relay teams to keep a sense of competition alive. He set a total of twenty-eight world records, including the one hour run record in 1904, as well as both professional and amateur records.

Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, some slight fading to the spine, which has a little bumping to the head and tail. Photograph to the front cover has rubbed a little, and the back board has a few spots. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean.
