In this very scarce first edition, Carse relays the history of the monarchy, from Henry VII to Edward VII, in rhyming couplets.

Illustrated with twenty full colour plates, and with numerous further vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.

These illustrations are the work of English cartoonist, illustrator and artist William Heath Robinson, best known for his drawings of elaborate and whimsical machinery.

Undated; dated 1908 via Jisc.

A continuation of Carse and Heath Robinson's 'Merry Monarchs of England', first published in four volumes the year prior.

An excellent copy of this very scarce first edition, subtitled 'humorous rhymes of historical times'.

Condition

In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail, with a touch of fading to back strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with only the odd handling mark.
