First edition of Heroic Legends retold by Agnes Grozier Herbertson in the original publisher's red cloth binding.

Including the stories of St George and the Dragon, Robin Hood, Richard and Blondel, and other legends. 

Illustrated with sixteen colour plates by Helen Stratton. Collated, complete. The frontispiece is detached. 

Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown dated 1910.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly discoloured and there are some light markings to the boards. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front pastedown dated 1910. Internally, firmly bound. The frontispiece is detached. The pages are generally bright and clean, with fair spotting throughout and heavy spotting to the endpapers and first few pages in particular.
