What Our Customers Say...

Description

Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

These volumes are the abridged editions of William Chaffer's larger works of 'Marks and Monograms' and 'The Keramic Gallery', with these editions being useful handbooks for collectors. The works were intended to offer a basic guide to ceramics, pottery, and porcelain. 'The Collector's Hand-Book of Marks and Monograms on Pottery & Porcelain' shows the marks and monograms and manufactories, manufacturers, and artists of historic pottery and porcelain, from the Renaissance to the turn of the twentieth century. 'The Collector's Handbook to Keramics' shows historical pieces of ceramics from the Renaissance to the turn of the twentieth century, divided into chapters with each looking at a certain country. Both volumes are profusely illustrated throughout. Written by William Chaffers. Chaffers was an antiquary and wrote many reference works on hallmarks and ceramics. His works published established Chaffers as the leading authority on the subject.
