Presumed second edition of this work.

Alessandro Filippini's immense cookery work, containing a multitude of recipes from all around the globe.

Filippini also anglicised his name to Alexander whilst working professionally as a chef at Delmonico's Restaurant in New York.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper.

Condition

Rebound in a half morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light rubbing to the boards and spine. Rear joint is starting but firm. A little wear to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a couple of faint spots. A couple of pencil annotations to the margins.
