The first edition of this work. A comprehensive and exploratory work on the history and evolution of clothing around the world. Illustrated with a frontispiece, ten plates, and many in-text illustrations. Most copies were sold to libraries, this is a rare private copy in very good condition. Collated, complete. Written by Wilfred Mark Webb, a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, and the Curator of Eton College Museum.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Minor rubbing and marks to the boards and spine. Title to the front board and spine have been renewed by hand by a prior owner. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot.
