This work written by art historian Anne Brownell Jameson. This work provides a study on the representation of the Madonna in fine art. This work was volume four in Jameson's set of works on artistic portrayals of angels, saints and other religious imagery.

Condition

In the publishers original quarter vellum over cloth. Externally very smart with minor marks to the spine and to the boards and light rubbing to the extremities to the boards and to the title to the spine. Very light age toning to the end papers. Internally firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
