Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown, with the name omitted. Illustrated, with a folding panorama photograph of Colombo Harbour, a map, 62 plates. Lacking the large folding map. Written by the director of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Ceylon, J C Willis. Ceylon is the colonial name given to what is now Sri Lanka. With useful information on the population, cultivation, geography, climate, mountains and people of the area. A comprehensive work.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities. A few light marks to the spine and boards. Prior owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Small loss to the bottom corner of p.7 not affecting the text.
