Written by William Samuel Furneaux, a British science teacher and nature writer who gained considerable fame in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for his popular books on butterflies, moths, pond animals, and plants from the English countryside.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light age toning to the extremities. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
