With a map of Livingstone's route across Africa. Livingstone was one of the first Westerners to maek a transcontinental journey across Africa, Luanda on the Atlantic to Quelimane on the Indian Ocean near the mouth of the Zambezi. Despite repeated European attempts, this area had not been crossed by Europeans due to the risk of disease. Achieving this corssing lent credence to Livingstone's status as a celebrity.

Condition

In a cloth binding with Talwin Morris design. Externally, smart with some rubbing and bumping. Endpapers foxed. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with occasional spot.
