Captain Robert F. Scott was a British Royal Navy officer and explorer who led two expeditions to the Antarctic regions. These volumes detail the Voyage of Discovery of 1901-1904. This expedition saw Scott set a new southern record and discover the Antarctic Plateau.
With twelve plates to volume one and an folding map and twelve plates to volume two and a folding chart. With a frontispiece to each volume.
Collated, complete.
With adverts to the rear of volume one.
Condition
Both are in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light fading to the spine and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and a small tear to the head of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the reverse of the frontispeices of both volumes. Small tear to the map where it is attached to the binding but remains firmly bound. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
