Folding Plates, Illustrated, Original Binding
With numerous black and white illustrations, including fold-out plates. William Lithgow (1582–1645), traveller, writer and alleged spy, born at Lanark, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, claimed at the end of his various peregrinations to have tramped 36,000 miles on foot.
Condition
In a red cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. Spine is sunned. There is also some minor damage to the top and the tail of the spine. Joints are starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound, though front hinge is weak. Pages are generally bright and clean with some scattered light foxing.
