A touching biography on John Hutchinson, a first-hand account of the English Civil War from the side of the parliamentarians.

Hutchinson was accused of being in involved in the Farnley Wood Plot in 1663, and did in prison.

Illustrated with a frontispiece, and a folding genealogical table.

Written by Lucy Hutchinson, who wrote this biography of her husband that did not get published until 1806.

Revised with additional notes by Charles Firth.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little fading to the spine and boards. Small crack to the front joint. Minor marks to the boards and spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small crack to the rear hinge, though the hinge is not starting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
