Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding

The scarce first edition of this work.

In the publisher's original cloth binding.

Richly illustrated with plates, seventeen of which are paintings in colour, and numerous in-text illustrations. Collated complete.

An intriguingly opinionated work of architectural and design guidance in response to the surge of modern house building. Chapters explore features of a house, such as the drawing room, the soul of the house and carpets and rugs.

From British architect and artist, Bailie Scott, whose styles derived from the Tudor and later the Neo-Georgian.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, with sunning and tidemarks to the spine. Slight bumping to the head and tail of spine. Marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound, with one plate 'Music Room' disbound but present. Pages are bright and clean.
